Maine Lobster Festival - 70 Years and Still Going Strong!

Lobster Dinner at Lobsterfest.png

I had an incredible time on Saturday volunteering at the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland. This celebration of our favorite crustacean has been going on for 70 years, and it just keeps getting better! Festivities included the grand parade down Main Street, a lobster crate race, and craft tents filled with works of artisans of all types. The enthusiasm of the volunteers, participants and visitors is contagious, and of course, the lobster dinner was the star of the show. I enjoyed mine sitting by the harbor, and it doesn't get much better than that! For dessert, I had some wonderful wild blueberry ice cream from Stone Fox Farm Creamery. Pure, fresh cream and sweet, wild blueberries....need I say more? After the festival, I couldn't resist stopping by Rustica for an appetizer, and I've got more to tell you about that next week!
