Gracious Service Still Exists - Find It At Pate's Restaurant
Since 1957, Pate's has been a beloved Cape Cod landmark, and Chatham, MA locals know they can depend on having a choice of specialties like the baked stuffed lobster pictured above, as well as classics such as juicy prime rib. I had the pleasure of eating there last night with my sister and brother-in-law. After being greeted warmly, we sat down to a scrumptious meal, starting with a fantastic Caesar salad with plenty of anchovies on it. (Yes, I love anchovies, even though not everyone does). The baked stuffed lobster went to my lucky brother-in-law. The delicate, buttery breadcrumb stuffing was a nice complement to the sweet, succulent lobster. I had the surf and turf which gave me the best of both worlds. My top sirloin was a tender medium-rare, just the way I like it, and the baked stuffed shrimp accompanying were perfectly cooked. My sister also loved her filet mignon, also cooked to a perfect medium for her. Creamy, rich vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal. However, what really makes Pate's stand out was the gracious, friendly manner in which the entire meal was served. Sadly, this is attention to kind service is becoming harder and harder to find. I'm glad it's still alive and well at Pate's.
