Fourth of July: Where to Go, What to Do

Maine has no shortage of fun activities for you and your family to enjoy on the Fourth of July. Here are some suggestions to get you thinking:

Bug Light Park in South Portland offers plenty of family-friendly fun on the Fourth. The South Portland Historical Society is hosting their annual Independence Day Classic Car Show. There's lots of room to spread out on your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy their barbecue featuring burgers, hot dogs, and other snacks. At 12 noon, "Ben Franklin" will give a stirring reading of the Declaration of Independence. After that, you can relax, fly kites, and relish the fantastic view of Casco Bay. You'll also want to stay for the fireworks!

If that's not close enough, how about a Casco Bay Fireworks Cruise?

Fireworks displays will be held all across Maine, but the Stars and Stripes Spectacular on the Eastern Prom in Portland is always a huge crowd-pleaser.

Bath Heritage Days are taking place from June 29th-July4th. Events are taking place throughout Bath's downtown area, and there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Check out L.L. Bean's Summer in the Park concerts, events, and fireworks.

For a more low-key, relaxing celebration, there's a great view of various fireworks displays from Pine Point Beach in Scarborough.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Fourth of July!
